ABOUT

The retreats are hosted by Huw Wyn and invited guests. This is not about setting oneself up (the irony!) as a teacher, but about hosting an enquiry into what truly matters in this fleeting life. There are enough teachers sharing all sorts of nonsense; here, the invitation is to openness and a sense of wonder about who we truly are and what this miracle of life is, right now.

Huw has spent many years immersed in a love for the Dharma, studying Buddhist psychology, Buddhist psychotherapy, and Tibetan medicine with Akong Rinpoche at Samye Ling Monastery in Scotland, and with Amchi Tsewang Smanla, a traditional healer from Ladakh. He has also studied native herbal medicine with Chris Hedley, alongside a deep interest in shamanism.

This led to many years travelling through India, Tibet, the Americas, and Europe, meeting wonderful teachers and receiving many teachings along the way.

His main teachers in the Tibetan traditions include Akong Rinpoche, Kunzang Dechen Lingpa, and James Low, as well as studies with Tsoknyi Rinpoche, Namkhai Norbu, and many others.

He is the director of Into the Wild Festival and Wilderlands, a rewilding vision, and the author of The Dharma Diaries and Sufi and Raven – Love Songs to the Wild.

And all these, of course, are simply conceptual elaborations!
